The secret of getting ahead is getting started. That quote is often attributed to Mark Twain, but that's debatable. Regardless, don't you just love his short and irreverent yet oh so meaningful quips? This one is fitting for my very first blog post. Sometimes you have to abandon all fear and just. get. started.
Here I am enjoying an unseasonably warm November day in Old Montreal. Because I am so sensitive to the cold (and heat and rain and wind and snow, etc.), I check the weather incessantly and take advantage of any opportunity to expose my devastatingly sexy ankles. This daring late-fall ankle exposure was a rare treat, and another first among a slew of firsts I have and will experience this year. First legit winter parka and attempt to make this utilitarian item look fashionable? Challenge accepted. First *fatbike experience? Yes yes yes.
*A fatbike is an off-road bicycle with comically large tires designed for soft terrain like sand and snow. I find the appearance of these bicycles more amusing than any adult should.
